Nazuna:
Kuro-chin! Look, look! This t-shirt’s got a cartoon rabbit on it! Aww, it’s so cute! Wonder if I should buy it?
Whoa, those little trinkets over there look like they’d really suit the kids in Ra*bits! I feel like every time I come here, this place has new merch in, huh!
If you subscribe to their mail magazine, you’ll get a notification every time they get new stock in apparently... you think I should sign up?
Kuro:
Hey, Nito.
Nazuna:
What’s up, Kuro-chin? You look a little agitated?
Oh, am I making too much of a fuss over here? Sorry, I got kinda carried away.
I’m supposed to be helping you shop, but I got distracted by looking out for things for myself.
Kuro:
Nah, I’m just glad you’re enjoyin’ yerself. You’re really havin’ the time of yer life in a place like this.
As for me, I feel like I stick out like a sore thumb, so I’m not real sure what to do with myself.
That shop assistant’s been glarin’ at me like I’m somethin’ nasty ever since I stepped foot inside here, and if looks could kill... Ya don’t think she’s gonna call the cops on me, do ya?
Nazuna:
Mmm, nah. You’re not doing anything wrong, so she’s got no reason to.
I was a little embarrassed about entering a shop like this too at first. I’m a guy too, after all! Rei-chin was with me at the time, and he seemed to feel the same.
Feels like you’ve gotta have someone with you every time you pop by this place. It’s kinda hard for a guy to come in all by himself, huh?
Kuro:
You’d be just fine just by yerself, Nito. Anyone seein’ ya for the first time would think you’re cuter than any ordinary girl.
That’s why I asked ya to come with me in the first place.
... Ya come here a lot, don’t ya? Any idea what kinda stuff would put a smile on a girl’s face?
Nazuna:
Hmm... Can’t say I have. That’s kinda vague.
By the way, Kuro-chin. After you hurried over to me all panicked-looking and begged me to come with you to the girliest shop in town, it’s not like I would’ve turned you down, but...
Who on earth are you buying a present for in the first place?
Kuro:
Ah, right. It’s not just any girl I’m hopin’ to buy for—it’s my little sis.
I’ve been so busy recently with Akatsuki-related work on top of club activities, that I completely neglected a promise I made to spend time with her.
I’ve sent her about a dozen apology texts, and even gotten down on my knees to grovel in front of her bedroom door, but she ain’t havin’ it. Won’t even let me in her room no more.
Got a message from her a little earlier sayin’ she isn’t gonna talk to me for three whole days, and my blood just about ran cold.
It’s only been one day so far, but I already feel like someone’s taken a sword and stabbed me at least once in every part of my body.
Nito. I know it’s pathetic, but I’m countin’ on ya. I’m beggin’ ya to help me out here.
Nazuna:
Ku-Kuro-chin?! There’s no need to bow your head that low!
We’re pals, you and me! If anything, I’m glad you trust me enough to help you out in the first place!
You really love your little sis huh, Kuro-chin! Still, three days is hardly all that long, isn’t it? Wouldn’t most people threaten at least a week?
Kuro:
Yeah, well, three days is about the most I could handle, and she knows that much. If I had to go a whole week without a word from my little sis, well... I’d just about lose the will to live. I’d turn into a corpse of a man.
Nazuna:
Hmm. So it’s not like she’s genuinely mad at you, if she’s taking that into consideration.
But she’s probably mad about more or less being stood up, so I guess she just kinda wants to let you stew for a bit.
Hmm... Still, Kuro-chin, I feel like you’d know your little sister way better than I ever could.
Can you think of anything she likes to collect or anything she’s particularly into? That’d help a lot!
Kuro:
That’s a tough one... I don’t think she’s into the sorta stuff most girls are into.
Somethin’ she’s into, huh... I s’ppose she likes stuffed animals. She’s got a teddy bear named Scarlett O’Hara and all.
Nazuna:
Then why don’t you get her a stuffed animal?
Look, there’s a whole bunch of ‘em lined up in those shelves over there! You’re bound to find at least one that she’d like!
Kuro:
Yeah, there’s pigs and pandas and all sorts... Hm? They’ve even got tanukis. Don’t really see what any of these guys have in common. S’ppose anything’ll make the cut so long as it’s cute, huh?
Here’s a capybara, and a... wild boar? Nah, the label says it’s a baby boar. Come to think of it, my little sis and I watched a documentary a while back about the life of wild boars.
She got all excited about the way the little ones would follow behind their mother real close. Kept squealin’ about how cute it was.
Nito, I think I’m gonna go with this for her present. Granted, she may just accuse me of tryin’ to suck up to her to win her over, but it’s better than nothin’.
Nazuna:
Yeah. I think she’ll like it!
I was thinking about picking up some stuff that’d suit the kids back in Ra*bits while I’m here. Think you could keep me company, Kuro-chin?
Kuro:
I was the one who asked ya to tag along with me in the first place, so no complaints here.
Ah... Right now, she’s still little like a baby boar herself, but one day she’s gonna grow up too.
And all I can do until then is keep watch over her.
Ain’t nothin’ in this world that puts a smile on my face more than the thought of lookin’ after my little sis!
