Nazuna FS 3* - A Nostalgic Morning
A Nostalgic Morning
Proofreader: iridesenescence

Season: Summer

Nazuna:
(Mngh… I’m so sleepy. I was up until god knows what time last night working on my assignment for my cram course.)
(So that’s why I woke up so late too. Just ‘cause it’s summer break doesn’t mean I should go messing around with my sleep schedule. I better watch it.)
Oh, is that you, Kuro-chin?
Kuro:
Hey, Nito. Mornin’... Though I guess it's past the time to be sayin' that.
Nazuna:
Ah, actually I just woke up since I stayed up so late last night. I’m about to go and grab breakfast.
Kuro:
Haha, I was workin’ away on some costumes until late last night too. Ended up completely oversleepin’.
I was just goin’ to get somethin’ to eat too, so why don’t ya join me in the kitchen so we can grab somethin’ together?
Nazuna:
Ahaha, looks like we’re both late risers this morning—if you can even still call it morning. Yeah, let’s eat~♪
Location: Starmony Dorms - Kitchen
Nazuna:
It’s already getting on, so if I don’t stick with something light, I won’t have room for lunch.
I should be fine with half a slice of toast and a fried egg. Kuro-chin, is one slice of bread enough for you?
Kuro:
Yeah. If I’m still hungry afterward, I’ll just get somethin’ fillin’ for lunch.
...Wait, maybe I should at least put on some soup? I don’t get any chances to cook for my family while I’m stayin’ at the dorm, so I feel like I might lose my touch in the kitchen.
Think you’d have room for some soup? I’ll whip it up in two seconds along with our fried eggs.
Nazuna:
Haha, don’t mind if I do! It sure is a breath of fresh air to see you cook, Kuro-chin~♪
Kuro:
Hey now, don’t just stand there starin’ at me—go put the toast on and get the table set, would ya?
Nazuna:
Got it! ♪
Nazuna & Kuro:
Let’s eat!
Nazuna:
Mmm, should I have browned the toast a bit more?
Kuro:
Nah, this is just right. A few seconds of difference is all it takes to burn a piece of bread.
Nazuna:
...Oh, this soup tastes really good! The flavor’s subtle—it’s like comfort in a bowl!
Kuro:
Oh yeah? I’m glad t’hear ya like it.
Rei:
...Hmm, something does smell good.
Nazuna:
Morning, Rei-chin. It’s not every day I see you up and at ‘em this early.
Rei:
Kukuku. I happen to be a demon of the night that is quite capable of being an early riser.
Kuro:
I wouldn’t go callin’ yerself an early riser when it’s almost 10am. You here for breakfast too?
Kanata:
yes, i am hungry too... ♪
Kuro:
Whoa?!
Don’t go poppin’ up outta nowhere like that, Shinkai. Yer gonna scare people.
Kanata:
sorry about that, “red ogre-san.” do you have some for me too?
Rei:
Apologizing and going on to demand breakfast in the same breath—you really are something else, Shinkai-kun. Ah, incidentally, I happen to be hungry myself.♪
Nazuna:
Geez, both of you are way too carefree. Although if you’re okay with the same as us, then I guess I can put something on for you.
Kuro:
Well, guess we might as well.
It might still be a little hot for ya, Shinkai, but feel free to take some soup over with ya too.
Kanata:
will do~ i will drink it once it has cooled down. and there’s no need to toast my “bread”.
Nazuna:
Alrighty, then I’ll just go and toast Rei-chin’s. Back in two minutes!
(...Still, it sure feels strange for us four in particular to sit around a table together like this.)
(It hit me back when I ran into Kuro-chin in the hallway a little earlier too. For some reason, it just really takes me back to last year.)
(We’d run into each other at the shoe cupboards by the school’s entrance, and greet each other “Good morning!” as we head to class. No one would think twice about Rei-chin and the others being absent.)
(There’d be days where they never showed up at all, and other times where they’d just materialize out of nowhere that afternoon.)
(I remember one day when Rei-chin, Wataru-chin, and Kanata-chin all showed up for first period gym class and blew us all away.)
(Looking back, Class 3-B’s attendance record really did suck, huh…)
...Haha!
Kanata:
nazuna? is something “funny”?
Nazuna:
Kinda. I was just thinking about Class 3-B.
There was hardly a single day all of us were present in class back then, and yet now look at us, congregating like it’s totally natural.
Kuro:
Yer right there. It’s a real shame Aoba, Hibiki, and Tsukinaga ain’t here too.
Rei:
Hmm. I assume Aoba-kun has been at the agency since morning. As for Hibiki-kun, he recently seems to have his hands full rehearsing for a stage play as well.
Nazuna:
Leo-chin’s bed was already empty by the time I woke up. Where do you think he’s likely to be?
Rei:
He might have surprised us all and paid a visit to Yumenosaki as an alumni.
Kanata:
that sounds nice~ i want to “pay a visit” to yumenosaki’s “fountain.”
Rei:
Speaking of school… I do have a hidden desire “to put my arms through the sleeves of my school uniform once more.”
Nazuna:
Your uniform? How come?
Rei:
See, that way Ritsu and I would match, now that he’s become a third year. Ah, to have a taste of being in the same year as Ritsu—does it not sound like a stroke of genius?
Nazuna:
I mean, the only thing that was different about your uniforms was your necktie color, so you could’ve done that any time you wanted?
Kanata:
a “graduate” wearing a “school uniform” is just “cosplaying”, rei.
Kuro:
Ya already got held back for a whole year once. And considerin’ how ya normally pretend ta act like an old man, don’t go an’ try doin’ the opposite all of a sudden.
Rei:
Oh, all of you are far too cold. Don’t you have any desire to slip back into your old uniform?
Kuro:
Only half a year’s passed since we graduated, but Shinkai’s right. If the lot of us were to put on our old uniforms, it’d be as good as cosplay.
Although in Nito’s case, he’d easily blend right in with the current third years and nothing would feel off about it.
Nazuna:
Huh? Too far, Kuro-chin! I’ll have you know I’m an honest to god college student!
Kuro:
Haha, I’m just messin’ with ya.
Nazuna:
Come on… All of you hush and eat your breakfast before it gets cold.
Kanata:
hehe. the “soup” has cooled down to the perfect “temperature” for me to drink it.
Nazuna:
Looks like it has! Here, Rei-chin, I brought you some tomato juice…
(Now that we’ve graduated, and I’m juggling college on top of idol work, I’m in a different position from the rest of these guys.)
(But even so, when we spend time together like this, it makes me relieved to know that nothing’s changed about the bond between us. It’s fun!)
(...Oh, but it looks like they’ve gotten a tiny bit better about gathering together.♪)
